ABC-TV Stuff A Bus 2014 On
Friday December 19, Marcia Jones, Ken Conner and Tony Bilotti filled the back of three Mets with toys and headed to Honda
Center home of the Anaheim Ducks Hockey team. Stuff A Bus is an annual event toy drive held by ABC with the help of local
fire departments. The purpose of the event is to collect toys and brighten up the season for kids in need. The toys that we
at So Cal Mets delivered were collected by the Irvine Raquet Club - Tennis Club where Marcia is a member. The toy drive set
a record with 27 full size OCTA busses filled, glad we could help.

So Cal Mets Christmas Party at Moma Cozas' 12-14-14
Another So Cal Mets Christmas party that couldn't be beat. Marcia Jones did up a little story for our Left-Right game.We had a word search that whoever found the most in the time we were given won. The victory
went to Norma Mocabee! Then each table had to blow up balloons and stuff panty hose with them. Judy Conners table won that
one. The musical entertainment was provided by Ken Conner and his friend Bill Loconto.

Tour of So Cal Mets members Bob & Phyllis Burchetts' museum of assorted antiques. 11-9-14
Well, the cruisers today..
Ronnie/Barbie, Ken, Tony, and Marcia had quite a day! We started at Ken's house and braved the 405 Fwy to Torrance
to visit Bob and Phyllis Burchette's museum and collectibles!
Paul, Nate and Nate's brother were already there when we arrived. And man oh man has he got collectibles!! AND
he knows everything about them. I could see his eyes light up with pride as he started our
tour and continued to tell us about all the 'stuff' we were seeing. He is truly very proud of all of it an loved sharing
it with us. He has an awesome collection of radios, portable radios, magazines, electronics, telephones, televisions,
albums, books, letters, movie posters with autographs, old medicine bottles and remedies, and oh so many other 'things',
my brain is overwhelmed trying to remember it all. He even had some old medical 'electric shock'
machines. My eyes were overwhelmed !! He says it's some 40 years of collecting 'stuff' with no real direction.
And he had 4 cars too!! He served us hot dogs and chili he cooked on his hot dog machine to wrap up the day. I'm sure all of us are still thinking about all the things we saw
and questions we still think about asking. Both Tony and Ken took lots of pictures to post. Then
homeward bound we were. Thanks Ken for coming up with such enjoyable route, both to and from Bobs.
We loved the little 'side tour' on the way home. THANK YOU BOB AND PHYLLIS for inviting us and making it such a special day.
We're all glad it worked out for us to visit and also thank you for accommodating us at a last minute ! See ya' on the road,, Marcia Cruise Director

as new and they are in and around different back drops that add to the whole picture. There is a replica of the drive in Burger stand where they met across from a replica of the Drive
In movie where they had their first date. They also have a nice little stretch of 'Main St.' in Mayberry NC from the Andy

Surf City Garage Car Show Huntington Beach
8-16-14
This was the 6th annual car show at Surf City Garage Headquarters in Huntington Beach.
Surf City Garage makes some fine automotive detailing products. It was a
great show with over 200 entrys of cars, motor cycles, camping trailers and other transpotation related goodies. The So Cal Metters who entered the show were Marcia Jones with her Brother Bruce and Tony
Bilotti. Paul Van Wig tried to bring his Morris Minor Woody but there were problems with the brakes. Renee and Nick
Anderson came to look at the cars and Surf City Garage owner Mr. Tim Millers fine collection of cars and car stuff, and
what a collection it is!! As hard as it is to believe. This place is only open to the public the day of the show. Mr. Miller
has got one heck of a play pen there in H.B.

Antique Phonograph and Radio Show Buena Park
8-10-14
Our new friend and Metter Bob Burchett invited us to a old phonograph
and radio show at the food workers union hall in Buena Park Sunday August 10th one block east of Knotts Berry Farm. Unfortunatly
Bob was unable to attend. The show was great. There were radios and record
players there, that if we had not been invited to this show some of us (me anyway) would never have known these
things ever exsisted. Before the show started people in the
parking lot were asking if it was also a car show. We were feeling a little guilty because it seemed like we were
stealing the show. : ) After the show we drove
a block to Knotts and had lunch at 'Pinks Hot Dogs' then we shopped a little in the stores at knotts. Metters attending were Armando & Maritza Reyes, Ronnie & Barbie Bauman, Ken & Judy
Conner, Chuck Hatfield & Linda Flechtner, Nate Hall and his Brother Thomas, Mike Dahlberg, Marcia Jones and Tony Bilotti.

Ken & Judy Conner's Cruise
by the Cool Ocean 7-26-14
Ken and Judy Conner hosted a cruise along Pacific Coast highway from
their home in Huntington Harbor to Seal Beach to Long Beach and then back to Huntington Beach Central Park for lunch. The
route and all the stops were terrific. Judy made us all wonderful 'Goodie Bags' out of sail cloth with a big red M on
each bag. The bags contained fruit, candy, cheese and crackers, pretzels and water to keep us happy
on the drive and a baggie of quarters for parking meters. We couldn't have taken better care of ourselves,
Big Thanx!

Phyllis Burchett's 60th Birthday Suprise 7-20-14
Bob Burchett wanted to surprise his Wife Phyllis with a 1960 Metropolitan for her 60th
Birthday. He asked So Cal Mets for help with a 'raffle' where Phyllis WINS the car. The whole thing was staged by Bob with
the help of So Cal Mets. The idea was we were raffling the car off at the same place (Original Mikes Santa Ana) as he was
taking Phyllis for a suprise party. One member of the Birthday group gave Phyllis a Birthday Card with 5 raffle tickets in
it. Of course one of the five tickets was the 'winner'. The whole thing worked like magic and Phyllis was shaking with excitement
and disbelief. Two Thumbs Up for Bob!
